Audiowave Dasher's Channel. |
Well, here we go once again with Audiowave Dasher, though the circumstances behind this article are unfortunately far different than before. This time, we're told its on accounts of harassment. Sit tight folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
So, just a recap on the previous article written about him back in August. He was discovered "self-promoting" in a Facebook group about a month ago, and complaining that major sites such as Equestria Daily and other MLP-Affiliated internet radio stations were not playing his music he submitted, and calling for the other members to spam said places via email, in order to get his music played.
So, lurking around I had a look and this piece is what I had discovered, his main work, so to speak. Heavily compressed guitar tracks, to out of key singing, and blatantly ripping off the riffs from Blink-182's song, "What's My Age Again?" - with that, it's pretty obvious why no one would want to play it. Nothing personal against the guy who made it, it is just that his work was simply not good.
But that kind of an explanation isn't good enough for AudioWave Dasher, aka Ben Jackson - a musician who self-proclaims he has 20 years of experience behind his belt. His mindset is one of preferring what he calls traditional rock'n'roll over "shitty dubstep that a lot of MLP stations play." While there's not a problem with having>opinions, it does become a problem when you start using it to bash everyone who disagrees with you. According to him, anyone who criticizes his work (not his character as a person) must not be musicians themselves, regardless of their background or whether he knows who they are. In other words, if you criticize his work, you clearly no nothing about music yourselves, and need to educate yourself on it, you dirty know-nothing plebians.
Yeah right, that's a pretty big case of bullshit for anyone with half a brain. You don't need to be a chef to know that a dish tastes terrible. Just as you don't need to be a musician to know something sounds bad when you hear it. For the record, I used to play bass years back, though I've long since put it away.
Now since the article, he has been for the most part largely forgotten. Except for when we were informed by a source that spoke on a condition of anonymity, that he was threatening them over personal messages to "play his song, or else." - because harassment and threats do wonders to get what you want right? Especially coming from a 34 year old man like himself, that's sure to make the people cower, right? Just because people don't bow down to your threats, doesn't mean that the fandom is "going downhill." It just means they have enough self-respect to not listen to your drivel.
The rest of the screenshots speak for themselves.

If any other Pony media groups have instances of this guy harassing you, threatening you to play his music or else, then let us know. We'll be more than happy to report on it.
After all, we know drama.
UPDATE: Have some nice words from him about other brony music producers
