Update: A counterpetition has been started
It's been a busy few weeks in the Pony fandom. We got a huge leak of every remaining episode of the season, we celebrated the 7th Anniversary with an almost suicidally-long stream, we had the movie release (and 129 GB full-HD leak of it), as well as its gradually decreasing score on Rotton Tomatoes (it's now at 50%!), but above all that, we had the revelation that Scootaloo seems to live with her 2 aunts...who are not sisters.
Mike Vogel implied that they have an alternative lifestyle arrangement, aka, they're in a relationship.
The fact that the crippled orphan pony might actually have a loving family to look after her was too much for "A Concerned Mother" who has started a petition to "Remove Homosexuality and Hateful Staff From My Little Pony" under threat of boycott.

More likely is that the petition was started as a joke by some anon [Archive Link] than an actual "Concerned Mother", but the signers may agree with the proposed sentiment. The irony of starting a petition to keep the colorful pony cartoon a safe-space away from liberal ideals was lost on many. (Nevermind the fact that statistically there aren't enough stallions in the show for every mare to have a heterosexual relationship in the first place, or that horses are one of the mammalian species that exhibits homosexual behavior in nature)

"I grew up with My Little Pony as a little girl and hoped to share it with my daughters today. I can't do that anymore because the current show runners of My Little Pony continuously tweet out hateful tweets about the President of the United States and have forced in two lesbian characters for the sake of political statements.
It saddens me to see a show that empowers women and girls so much fall into the trap of leftism. I call on all fans of the show that hate the direction it's going in to join me in this boycott. Protest with your wallets. Let Hasbro know that we don't like this direction, and maybe, just maybe, we can get our beloved ponies back. Also equally concerning is the impact this will have on the franchise in other countries. The Middle East, Russia, China, etc, already ban products and shows containing gay characters. That's billions of eyes not watching ponies.My Little Pony has always been about escapism. Escapism from a dark, hard world. If the current path the franchise is going down is followed, that escapism is dead. Do not let it die. The petition has garnered less than 50 signatures at the time of writing. More on this as it develops.
