Sony Overlords Wreak Havoc on YouTube

With the shut-down of TeamFourStar's YT page still fresh in peoples' minds and various big names in the community putting their two cents on the current state of affairs, Sony Music Entertainment has dropped huge bombs of copyright claims on My Little Pony fan music.

From the images procured, it would only seem that "recent" pony songs have been hit, those from Season 3+. A quick search shows that older artists such as JackleApp and AllLevelsAtOnce still have their songs of which sample the show's music still up.

While this isn't exactly the same as a "strike" on a YouTube account, which can eventually lead to an entire account being suspended; a copyright claim on a video means that it is blocked in certain countries and whatever Adsense Money income that was being made is now effectively cut off.

Horse News, as a website that has never, and will never, take money from any ads whatsoever, usually frowns on procuring dosh from fandom works. However, when the effort is put through and the content creator wishes to profit from stuff that's protected from Fair Use, and punished for it thereafter - a line has been crossed. Precedents are set. It's a toxic circle that has some serious dark implications.

To add insult to injury, they hit our boy Rag; and that's just fucked up. Divegrass a pure, dammit!
